4 Ways to Improve V-Twin Output
There are several ways to improve the output of a v-twin motorcycle engine, and we’re going to discuss some of the best options for increasing performance - specifically in regards to creating power.
1. Replacing EOM Parts with Upgraded Parts
Our first and most obvious option is to install larger valves. This will allow more air and fuel to enter the cylinders, which will result in more power. I’m going to lump another option into this first one, because it falls under this same category, and that is to port and polish the cylinder heads. This will also improve airflow, and therefore power. Finally, installing higher-lift camshafts will also increase power.
2. Forced Induction
Another way to improve V-Twin output is to add forced induction. This can be done by installing a turbocharger or supercharger. Forced induction can significantly increase the power output of an engine.
3. Nitrous Oxide
Finally, another way to improve V-Twin output is to add nitrous oxide injection. Nitrous oxide injection can give an engine a significant power boost, but it must be used carefully to avoid damaging the engine.
All of these mechanical upgrades will require some modification to the engine. Therefore, it is important to consult with a qualified mechanic before making any changes. Making the wrong change could result in decreased performance or even damage to the engine.
So yes, there’s more power to be had, but these won’t increase your mileage or be kinder to your engine; in fact, they’re more likely to create problems where there weren’t any before. In fairness, reduced MPG in a v-twin isn’t that much of a concern, considering the numbers we typically get to start.
But what if I told you that the 4th and cheapest way to increase your v-twin motorcycle engine’s horsepower, torque, range, and overall health & lifespan was just a single $5.99 bottle away?
4. Advanced Power Performance: Power Sport Blend
Power Sport Blend doesn’t just clean and optimize your entire engine like other fuel additives: it’s combustible too! This means that when fuel treated with Advanced Power Performance sparks, it burns a higher percentage of the fuel in the cylinder for a more even distribution of ignition in the cylinder, resulting in more horsepower, range, and torque per stroke, every stroke. Just 1 fluid ounce of Advanced Power Performance: Power Sport Blend treats 3 gallons of unleaded gasoline, and the bottle even comes with convenient measurement markers on the back label. We haven’t even gotten into the environmental benefits, but that’s for a different post.
